WILL NAIL EXTENSIONS DAMAGE MY NATURAL NAILS? No, if you visit a well trained, qualified and experienced nail technician that practices good standards of hygiene, your nails will not be damaged. Make sure you check his/her qualifications, how long have they been doing nails? are the products they use labeled? Do they sanitize their equipment? Do they have insurance and public liability certificates displayed? All these things will help you find a good technician that will not damage your nails. |

WHAT IS MAINTENANCE AND WHY DO I NEED THIS? After your nail extensions have been applied, they will need looking after and every 2 / 3 weeks you will need to re-visit your technician so that he/she can carry out a maintenance service. This involves removing any broken and damaged nails, re-shaping, filing, re-applying gel, acrylic or fiberglass and finishing with your choice of polish. You need to have this done as your natural nails will continue to grow and so will the extensions that are now on top of them, if they just grow out with no maintenance, they will become top heavy and could tear or rip off under pressure, they will also look messy and unsightly as time goes by.

WHICH IS THE BEST NAIL EXTENSION FOR ME? There are 3 types of nail extension, gel, acrylic or fiberglass. There is no BEST one, each method will depend on your nail shape, lifestyle, job and any previous experience you may have had in the past. Do not be afraid to discuss this first with your nail technician, a good tech will be able to do all 3 and will be able to demonstrate and advise you of which one will best suit you and your lifestyle.
